The Ontario Energy Board is giving Enbridge the right to start collecting the federal carbon tax on your gas bill.
It will amount to just under 4 cents for every cubic metres of gas used and will be shown as a separate line item.
Enbridge, which recently merged with Union Gas, estimates the average homeowner in northwestern Ontario will pay $86 more over a year.
The money is collected by the gas company, and forwarded directly to the federal government.
