Careless Hunting Leads To $10,000 Fine

Two men from Hearst have been slapped with a $10,000 fine for careless hunting near the town of Nestor Falls.

Court heard that last October the two left their vehicle and fired down a commonly-used forestry road at a deer decoy.

They were caught by nearby conservation officers.

Maurice Gaulin and Jeremie Veilleux have both been banned from hunting in Ontario for five years.

They will also have to successfully complete the Ontario Hunter Education Course before they can purchase another hunting licence.
