Caribou 1

The Ontario Government is seeking public input on how to

protect woodland caribou in Northern Ontario.

The Ministry of Natural Resources has completed a draft

recovery strategy for the forest dwelling wildlife.

Spokesperson Ted Armstrong says most of the region’s

Caribou can be found near Geraldton, Sioux Lookout, and

Hearst.

Armstrong adds the report can be found on the Ministry

of Environment’s website, or by contacting your district

MNR Office.

Comments are being accepted by the MNR for the next 60

days.
