Caribou Coup

A major coup for MNR Staff at Savant Lake.
11 people were involved in the collaring of 4 female caribou earlier this month.
The animals are now wearing GPS equipped collars which are pre-programmed to drop off in January 2006 & then be retreived by the Ministry.
The collars will allow officials to track the Caribou for the next 80 weeks, recording their position every 3 hours.
To be able to attach 1 device would have made the mission a success & getting all 4 attached is being called absolutely extraordinary by MNR Biologists.
