The Keewatin Patricia District School Board continues to
work on their oral lanugage program for young aboriginal
students.
The public board has been working alongside world
renowned researcher Carmel Crevola.
Director of Education Janet Wilkenson says they want to
better prepare first nation students for school.

Wilkenson adds the Ojicree language does not use he or
she, which can often be confusing for young students.
The board is looking to create simple teaching methods
for students struggling with the english language.
