Testing done on grades three and six students is being used by the Northwest District Catholic School board.
Director of Education Mary-Catherine Kelly says they use those numbers to find areas needing improvement or ones that are okay.

Kelly emphasized the numbers for grade three reading and math have improved over the 2001 stats.
But the numbers show a decease in writing skills of about six percent.
As well, the Grade six reading, writing and math have increased.
