Remembering Indigenous veterans and the sacrifices made to protect our freedom.
A special ceremony was held at the Dryden Native Friendship Centre Wednesday, with a wreath laying at the Cenotaph.
Cultural Resources Coordinator Cheryl Edwards says it’s important to dedicate a day, to specifically remember aboriginal vets who have made the sacrifices to protect all Nations and all individuals
Edwards says the Indigenous community is also fully involved in Remembrance Day ceremonies.
Edwards stresses it’s important to acknowledge Aboriginal veterans and give them the proper recognition that they deserve.
