Chamber Hoping To Be Involved In Budget Process

The Dryden District Chamber of Commerce is calling for transparency in 2014 Municipal budget talks.
Chair James Cochrane says they applaud the use of consulting firm KPMG and recognize the pressure the new CAO is under to make sure they have all of the right numbers.
However, Cochrane notes the business community should be involved as they are concerned.
He notes the draft budget should have the correct numbers to spark meaningful dialogue.
Cochrane says he expects the City will want some input after the draft budget is presented and notes the Chamber is hoping to be involved in those discussions.
Cochrane adds the City must be open and inclusive in their deliberations if they plan on making deeper cuts than KPMG identified.
