Chamber Responds To Communication Comments

The Dryden Chamber of Commerce says they have taken the initiative to communicate and work with the City on a regular basis.
Chair Stefanie Armstrong is questioning comments from the Mayor about the lack of communication with the Chamber.
Armstrong says the Chamber has met publicly and privately with Council and staff several times in 2013.
That includes three public presentations to Council.
Armstrong notes they have entered into a working partnership with the City on the proposed Regional Business Retention and Expansion Project and both sides were able to work together to keep the Tourist Information Centre open this Summer.
Armstrong adds they sent a letter to Council on July 31st offering their support and assistance with the upcoming service delivery review and the establishment of the new business working group.
She says the City elected to not nominate a representative to the Chamber Board of Directors last year and has not attended any General Meetings of the Chamber in the past 12-months.
Armstrong stresses it’s their goal to work with the City, Dryden Development Corporation and the newly formed working group.
