The Liberal government is modernizing the Mining Act.
Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle says the proposed changes would improve how mining claims are registered and enable on-line registration of mining claims.
Gravelle believes the moves will enhance the province’s global competitiveness in the mining industry.
The four-part plan includes investing in the talents and skills of individuals, enhancing infrastructure, creating a dynamic and innovative environment where mining companies can thrive as well as building a secure retirement savings plan.
