Mounties have released new details about an incident at Rideau Hall in Ottawa which led to an arrest.
Police say a man drove through the main pedestrian entrance of 1 Sussex Drive on Thursday morning.
They say the armed suspect then walked to a greenhouse, where he was “contained” by officers on patrol.
The emergency response team was called in and the man was arrested about two hours later.
Police have not identified the suspect but say he’s a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.
The prime minister and the governor general were not on site at the time.
