Charges against 18 year old Brayden Bushby are being upgraded to second degree murder, in relation to the death of 34 year old Barbara Kentner.
Coroner Michael Wilson says he met with Kentner’s family this morning.
“My office responsibility is to determine facts about the person who has died. I have provided some information to the family about that and similar information has been provided to the people who make those decisions regarding charges that would include the police and the crown.”
He was originally charged with aggravated assault in February after a trailer hitch was hurled at her from a moving vehicle the previous month.
Following Barbara’s death on July 4th, Crown Attorney reviewed the circumstances surrounding her death with the Region’s Chief Coroner and the Criminal Investigations Branch.
Bushby surrendered himself to police this morning and was charged. He will appear in Superior Court this afternoon.
