The CKDR newsroom has been notified of another scam that’s hit the region.
In this instance, the resident received a cheque for over 35-hundred-dollars from a company called First Capital Asset Management.
Included are instructions for the person to go to Walmart, spend 100-dollars and act as a secret shopper.
Then the recipient is told to go to the post office and send a money gram for 1200 dollars to a specific address.
The caller says she talked to the real company, which is actually a realty office in Toronto and confirmed that they didn’t send out a cheque, making this just another scam.
