The Chief of Police in Dryden is pleased the Provincial Government is taking action to curb the abuse of prescription pills.
The Health Ministry is looking to impose new rules before the end of the year limiting the use of Oxycontin and Percocet pills.
Shayne MacKinnon says he hopes the Government moves quickly.
MacKinnon says it’s a major issue in Northwestern Ontario.
Proposals include a computer system to track how much Oxycontin is going out and send out alerts if a prescription is received 2-days in a row.
