Child Care Funding

The Provincial Government is putting over $14-million in child
care funding in the hands of the Kenora District Services Board.
The new cash is for 3-years and will lead to an increase in
child care spaces.
Director of Child Care Dianne Apland says under the Best Start program,
the money could be used to hire more teachers and renovate schools.
Apland says they’re extremely pleased with the funding announcement,
stating they never thought they would receive so much.
The Province is also waiving municipal costs on new child care
funding through 2010.
