Child Care Talks Back On In Sioux Lookout

The Kenora District Services Board and Canadian Union of Public Employees have entered into discussions regarding the operations of child care in Sioux Lookout.

The two sides are working together to ensure that services will not be disrupted on April 1.

In a statement from the KDSB, both parties’ priority is to minimize and avoid any negative impacts as much as possible to the community, families, children, and child care staff.

It adds the Board and union want to reassure the community that continued access to high-quality, accessible, and affordable child care and early years programming is the all-important goal.

Meetings are ongoing between the KDSB and CUPE.
