A Dryden youngster is safe and sound today after a close call over the weekend.
Dryden Police say a vehicle hit a young girl at the intersection of Van Horne and Albert on Sunday.
Police say the driver did stop for two girls on a bike but when one of the girls realized her friend had dropped something, she ran back to the middle of the street to grab the item and was struck.
An off-duty paramedic treated the girl at the scene.
Police say she was taken to hospital and later released with scratches to her arm.
No charges have been laid against the driver.
