Children and Youth Mental Health issues will be discussed at an awareness symposium at the Dryden Centre Friday.
A number of organizations have come together in a bid to reduce gaps, increase graduation rates and improve services for children with mental health disorder.
Public School Board Superintendent Sean Monteith says they are trying to establish a system-wide approach to deal with mental health issues.
Monteith says they want to implement strategies to help those deal with depression, anxiety or any other disorder.
One in three 15-year-old’s in Ontario suffer from some sort of anxiety disorder or depression.
Monteith says schools are the ideal place to help children with various aspects of their lives, including health.
