Children’s acetaminophen product recalled

Check your cupboard. A recall has been issued for Pediatrix Acetaminophen Oral Solution.

Routine testing found the product tested a higher than acceptable amount of acetaminophen, around 185 milligrams per five millimetres, rather than the approved and labelled 160 milligrams per five millilitres.

The product is available without a prescription and is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and fever in children from two to 11 years of age.

Children could be at risk of overdose due to their small size.
