Children’s Service Group Balances the Budget

Family and Children’s Services of the District of Rainy River has ended the year with a balanced budget, one of few in the province to do so.
Executive Director Vik Nowak says its partly due to their ability to keep children in care within the district instead of sending them to expensive group homes
Novak says the agency has been facing funding pressures, particularly in the area of its mental health and developmental services program which hasn’t received any funding increase over the past decade.
He notes each month, the agency provides mental health services to more than 100-children.
