Progressive Conservative candidate Christine Elliott is pledging more support for northwestern Ontario if she ends up winning the leadership bid and upcoming provincial election.
Speaking to CKDR News, Elliott says she supports a doubling of the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund to spur job growth in the region.
She says the north also needs a coherent energy policy.
Elliott says local residents don’t need to be afraid to open their hydro bill on a daily basis.
She adds the north needs to have stable and reliable access to health care, without leaving home.
