Christmas Morning Fire In Dryden

It pays to have working smoke alarms.
On Christmas morning, the Dryden Fire Service responded to a 4-unit apartment building on Clearwater Crescent.
Acting Fire Chief Ken Kurz says they found a fire burning in the furnace room, which was a combination of the gas furnace and too many combustibles which caught on fire.
Kurz says the fire could have been deadly as the smoke alarms were not working.
Charges against the owner and occupants are pending.

Crews also responded to an oven fire on Ingall Drive on Saturday evening. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the oven and ventilated the smoke out of the home.
