Church Settles

The Diocese of Keewatin is the first in Canada to ratify an agreement between the Anglican Church and the Federal Government for a settlement fund for victims of abuse in residential schools.
Bishop David Ashdown says the Keewatin Diocese has committed $175,000 over 5 years.
Ashdown says they also want to raise another $50,000 for other programs, including healing with school survivors.
The council is one of 29 across the country that are expected to sign the deal.
