City Considering Closing Fire Hall #2

Dryden City Council will receive a reccommendation to close the Barclay Fire Hall at Monday evening’s regular Council Meeting startng at 7:00.

A staff report notes that Fire Hall #2 costs roughly $75,000 a year to operate.

The report, from City CAO Ernie Remillard and supported by Fire Chef Ken Kurz, says the closure of the fire hall was among the reccommendations from a 2013 cosultants report.

It also notes that insurance rates within a 13k radius from the main fire hall would not be affected.

Should the report be accepted, the #2 Fire Hall would be closed July 1 of this year.
