The City of Dryden is having a difficult time funding Ontario Works
programs.
The Kenora District Services Board is giving the municipality over
$12,000 in bonus funding to cover a first-quarter deficit.
Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says they had a caseload of 106 in December but
she stresses that has now jumped to 114.
Krassilowsky says they need the KDSB to foot more of the bill because they won’t be able to meet a $2,000 per case load benchmark set by KDSB for the second-quarter.
She says the City doesn’t want to lose Ontario Works services
but notes they have nowhere else to go.
