City Police Investigating Text Scam

Dryden Police are investigating a possible scam.
Police say a woman notified officers that she received a text from her mother asking for her Social Insurance Number.
She provided the number but became suspicious and called her mom to find out why she sent the text.
Police say the mother didn’t request the SIN number but did receive a reply message.
Police warn residents not to give out any information of this sort by text.
