The City of Dryden has taken over ownership of the Dryden Chamber of Commerce building.
The Chamber won’t be going anywhere as it has signed a one year lease agreement with the municipality.
Chair Stefanie Armstrong says the deal will give them some stability.
Armstrong says it will enhance their bottom line as they will no longer have to pay for maintenance and upgrades.
She says it will give them an opportunity to invest in chamber membership and programs.
Armstrong says the lease is important as they have been at the Highway 17 location since Day #1.
Armstrong adds the Tourism Centre and Chamber office is the only one on the Trans-Canada from Thunder Bay to the Manitoba boundary.
A similar lease agreement has been signed with Dryden Regional Arts Council for the Naked North Gallery.
