CKDR listeners in Ignace will be changing their radios tomorrow.
After over 30 years of receiving CKDR on the AM band, Ignace residents will hear a clear, stereo sound at 97.5 FM. The change will not be immediate – engineers will first shut down the AM transmitter at bout 9 AM. It will take several hours to remove the old transmitter and install the new FM transmitter as well as connect it to a new tower which was constructed in the last several weeks. If all goes according to schedule, the switch to FM should be complete by about 4 PM
