The Provincial Government is asking Hydro One to begin with the planning and implementation of 20 major transmission projects across Ontario.
Minister of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry Michael Gravelle says about $2.3-million will be spent by Hydro One over the next 3-years.
A series of 10-transmission projects could create over 6,000 jobs in this region.
Gravelle says one of the major renewable power lines will be Pickle Lake to Nipigon.
It also includes an upgrade of a line between Thunder Bay and Kenora.
