A report says Cliffs Natural Resources says it’s committed to working closely with 9-Northern First Nations that could benefit from its proposed chromite mine.
But Cliffs says it’s disappointed over last week’s demand from Matawa First Nation that there be another environmental review into the mine proposal.
Matawa wants a government-appointed joint review panel which would allow for public hearings.
Cliffs wants to have its chromite mine, which would be located 500 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, up and running by 2015.
