Climate Change Impacting Mining

A survey suggests that nearly half the people in mining believe that climate change is already affecting their operations.
The report by the David Suzuki Foundation also says employees in the field are much more likely to hold that belief than executives in head offices.
The foundation surveyed delegates at a mining conference and did phone interviews with workers at mine sites across Canada.
Between 34% and 48% of those surveyed said the warming climate had already affected their operations.
About 25% in executive positions shared that belief.
Some of the effects cited included melting ice roads, more frequent forest fires and heavier than usual storms.
