Cloverbelt Local Food Co-operative Receives FedNor Money To Expand

The Cloverbelt Local Food Co-operative has received $50,000 in federal funding to expand.
The money will be used to develop an on-line tool to provide information on local food production.
Co-op President Jenn Springett says they are hoping to continue their steady growth.
Springett says they’ve reached 500 members in their first year and that’s just in Dryden.
She says the money will help them branch out to other communities including Sioux Lookout, Kenora and Fort Frances.
FedNor Minister Greg Rickford made the funding announcement in Dryden on Thursday and says the ultimate goal is increasing the visibility and accessibility of local foods.
