The Canadian Medical Association is calling for strict regulations ahead of a government plan to legalize marijuana.
The organization is claiming misleading information on health products containing cannabis.
The CMA says those claims are often not substantiated, as the industry isn’t required to provide scientific evidence to back them up.
It is among the recommendations the Association is putting forward to the federal government.
The CMA also wants the health risks of using marijuana on packaging and labelling.
The Association is also calling for one set of rules governing both medical and recreational pot.
