A co-generation plan may be in the works for Abitibi Condolidated’s
Fort Frances mill.
The company is considering constructing a waste-fuel boiler, which would
burn what is known as bio-fuel; bark, branches & other forest material.
The plant would produce electricity as well as steam & heat for the complex.
Officials at Weyerhaeuser in Dryden are also still interested in a co-gen plant depending on finding funding for the project.
