Ontario Power Generation is keeping a close eye on the impact that the
C-N Rail strike will have on coal deliveries in Northwestern Ontario.
O-P-G’s coal-fired plants in Atikokan and Thunder Bay rely on C-N for
weekly shipments of coal from Saskatchewan.
One C-N train carrying about four days worth of coal arrived at Thunder
Bay a few days late and a shipment for the Atikokan plant is expected soon.
The plants do keep coal stockpiled for use in emergencies.
