Coal Fired Plants Back in the Spotlight

The Province is rethinking its plan to close all Coal-fired Plants by 2007 which is encouraging news for officials in Atikokan.
The Town has been fighting the move since day #1.
A Hydro One Spokesperson says they will review each station on an individual basis and there are no firm dates set for possible closure.
They add if new Generation Plants are not fully operational by 2007, Hydro One will stall the closure of the stations.
Atikokan is also bidding for a new Synfuel Plant which would create additional energy and create jobs.
