Coalition Reaction To Smoke-Free Bylaw Issue

The Coalition for a Healthy Dryden is dissapointed with Dryden City Council in its decision to not pass a 100-percent smoke-free bylaw.
Council is formulating its own bylaw restricting smoking in public places where children under 19 are present.
Coalition spokesperson Barb Roussin says the gold standard bylaw would have protected children as well as workers.
Roussin says the Coalition is not sure what or who will convince Council that passing a gold standard bylaw is the right thing to do.
She adds the Coalition is upset because council has received information from a number of organizations indicating second hand smoke is a health hazard for workers and the general public.
