Cochenour Man Fined

A costly lie for a Cochenour man.
David Betker has been fined $1,700 for angling in a fish sanctuary during a closed time and lying to a conservation officer.
Betker was stopped this April after ice fishing in the Chukuni River fish sanctuary.
He told the officer that he had one large northern pike, but 4-spawning walleyes were located under the fishing gear on his snowmobile.
