Cochenour’s Brett Jeffries Up For National Award

Cochenour’s Brett Jeffries has been recognized for a great final year in junior hockey with the Soo Thunderbirds.

Jeffries has been named the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s nominee for the RBC Canadian Junior Hockey League Player of the Year award.

The 20-year-old scored 11-times and doled out 31-assists in the regular season and added four goals and five helpers in nine playoff games.

Jeffries was named the league’s top defensive forward for a second straight year.

He was a member of Team NOJHL at the Eastern Canada Cup Challenge and remains heavily involved within the community.

Jeffries and the Thunderbirds are now preparing for the start of the Dudley Hewitt Cup next week.
