The Common Voice Northwest Energy Task Force is pleased with a decision by the provincial government.
The Liberals have announced they will give the Minister of Energy the ability to identify priority transmission projects to ensure that critical infrastructure is built in a timely manner.
Task Force Co-Chair Iain Angus says the lines to Pickle Lake, Red Lake, and Greenstone are essential and time sensitive to the economic growth of those communities and the Northwest.
Fellow Chair Larry Hebert says it’s essential the Government and the Ontario Energy Board be quickly given this new tool to assist in the growth of the region.
