The community is being asked to rally behind a Dryden family, who lost their home and almost all of their belongings in a March 25th fire at the Arbourjade Mobile Home Park.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up and a bank account has been established at the Royal Bank for Shauna and Evan McDonald and their two children.
Taylor Hampton and a group launched the Go Fund Me page, stating Shauna and Evan are great people who had a horrible thing happen to them and their family.
Open Roads School and Novel Ideas have also held fundraisers and are accepting donations.

Statement from Taylor Hampton:
Why Start the Campaign: “We” Started the campaign to help out Shauna and Evan because they are great people who had a horrible thing happen to them and their family. They were lucky enough that everyone got out safe but not so lucky that they lost everything. I’m personally not very close to them but I see Shauna nearly everyday at her work and we always chat a bit and have a few laughs before I leave for work myself. I feel terrible for anyone that would have to go through with a loss such as this one but I find that it has happened to someone I know, close or not, it really hits you hard. I didn’t have the funds to help them out myself, unfortunately so this was all I could really do to help out. Mind you, it was a few of us, Brittany Stroesser and her Glenda McCannon that really started trying to get things together for them. The same day, Open Roads School also began to participate in the funding and donations toward the family’s cause and a few days later so did Novel Ideas. It really took off from there, and donations came rolling in for the first couple of days which was amazing and almost brought me to tears. It’s such a great feeling knowing that the community will really come together in hard times like this.
Goal: We didn’t necessarily have a real goal in mind when we started the campaign. I mean, we agreed on $15,000 but of course we don’t expect it to reach that high. It was just kind of whatever someone can donate would be extremely helpful as it was just to help them out with whatever they need such as clothing, food and housing just to get them back up on their feet.
As for now, I just want to say a HUGE thanks to everyone that pitched in and their efforts to help Shauna, Evan and their kids. Everybody’s help has been greatly appreciated!
