The Northwestern Health Unit is working with several groups
to establish a community garden in Dryden.
Shannon Brennan is involved in the project and he says the garden will
be a small plot of land that will allow families, youth and seniors to grow
fruits and vegetables for individuals and the Food Bank.
Brennan says the garden may also feature a gazebo, benches and tables and will
also act as meeting place for local residents.
Organizers have their eye on several pieces of property including
Rotary Park and they hope to have the area developed this Summer.
The A.E. Annis Community Garden project is named after the man who was the first
owner of the experimental farm in 1895.
