Community Meeting In Red Lake Tonight To Discuss Homeless Shelter Plans

An information meeting is being held in Red Lake Tuesday night to discuss plans for a new Homeless Shelter.

A new building has been purchased on Howey Street and the current plan is to renovate the building.

The Red Lake Area Emergency Shelter received a $300,000 grant from the United Way to proceed with the project.

Executive Director Janalee Jodouin says the public will be able to learn more about shelter operations, their plan and future visions.

Jodouin stresses educating the public on their vision and the issue of homelessness is important to getting down to the root cause of the problem.

She stresses this is a community endeavour and she wants everyone involved.

The meeting starts at 6:30 at the Super 8.
