The Director of Public Works in Dryden addressed a number of comments regarding water meters at last night’s public meeting.
Mike Loutitt says that a lot of people seem to understand the meter, but it’s the bill and shadow bill that is confusing many.
He adds that 50 percent of the fee goes to water and 50 percent goes to sewage.
For the most part, Loutitt says that people seem to understand how to read their water meter but are having problems understanding the bills.
On the shadow bills, the amount of the unpaid bill is expected to be high until the bills go live.
Shadow bills will continue till the end of March 2013.
Loutitt adds that for the most part, most people are plus or minus 20 dollars of what they have seen in their flat rate bill.
Any other questions can be answered by contacting Public Works.
