A northern Ontario First Nation says it has concerns with changes to the Ontario Mining Act that come into effect on November 1st.
The Anishinabek Nation argues that it wasn’t adequately or meaningfully consulted or accommodated in the preparation of the new regulations.
Isadore Day says there are major gaps in the proposed regulations and they ignore the First Nation’s recommendations.
Day says many of the proposed Mining Act changes will infringe on constitutional rights.
