Conservation Plan for Lake of the Woods

A new Conservation plan for Lake of the Woods and Rainy Lake is close to being finalized.
It’s being developed by the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
Regional Vice-President Chris Maher says the plan is important to the area.
Maher says the plan would help protect the area from development that would save land and endangered species of plants and animals in the area.
He notes the strategy goes to its board of directors in the fall before work on its implementation takes place..
