With the federal election here the topic of the long gun registry is popping up again.
Conservative candidate Greg Rickford says the NDP are in favour of creating a new registry.
Rickford expects the issue to be hotly debated in the region and he notes northerners don’t want the government tracking their guns.
The Conservative government eliminated the long gun registry in 2012.
