The Member of Parliament for the Kenora Riding is defending the Government’s decision to suspend the current sitting of the House of Commons.
Prime Minister Harper has prorogued Parliament until March.
Greg Rickford suggests the delay in the next sitting of Parliament will mean that he will be able to spend more time in the riding meeting with his constituents.
Rickford adds that while some bills will die on the order paper, the private members bill aimed at killing the Long gun Registry will continue its journey through the parliamentary process.
The suspension of Parliament means the Federal budget won’t be released until Spring.
