Conservative MPP Wants to Study Land Disputes

A Progressive Conservative MPP wants the Legislature to investigate
aboriginal land claims and hold public hearings across Ontario.
Toby Barrett, whose riding includes the Town of Caledonia, says an
All-Party Committee is needed to look at First Nation land issues.
Barrett says Northwestern Ontario has its fair share of unresolved
issues, including Grassy Narrows and Big Trout Lake First Nation.
Barrett’s motion will be debated when the Ontario Legislature resumes sitting in the New Year.
