Contamination Found in Town Beach Water

Contamination has been discovered at Town Beach in Sioux Lookout.
The Municipality, Ministry of Environment and Hazco Environmental Services are currently on-site investigating its nature, origin and scope.
CN is also involved as the contamination was found near the rail yard.
Community Development Coordinator Brian MacKinnon says not a lot of information is known about the contamination, but notes the Town has taken a proactive stance in clean-up efforts.
MacKinnon says they are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of area residents and there’s no reason to believe there is any threat.
